Eurasia - design protection in all eight member states of the Eurasian Patent Organisation as of January 4, 2025

Turkmenistan is the last member state of the Eurasian Patent Organisation to accede to the Protocol to the Eurasian Patent Convention on the protection of industrial designs.

The protocol will enter into force with regard to Turkmenistan as of January 4, 2025.

With the accession of Turkmenistan, the Eurasian system for the protection of industrial designs offers applicants the possibility of obtaining design protection in all eight member states of the Eurasian Patent Organisation (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan) by filing a single application which can comprise up to 100 designs of the same class of the Locarno Classification.
